Lahore: Hearing the case on conservation of water, the Lahore High Court (LHC) has barred the use of potable water for parks in cantonment board areas, a news source reported. The case was being heard by Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi.
Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) head and other high officials of relevant departments were present at the hearing. LHC instructed that all the parks be provided canal water within 60 days and that all the water channels in cantonment area be opened up. The court also ordered the parties to submit compliance reports by 23rd October. This measure aims to conserve water in these areas, and use recycled water for watering parks.
