Lahore: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has floated tenders for hiring a consultant with regard to its advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) project – a news source reported.
Aspirants have been asked to submit their applications till February 8. LESCO will issue the remaining tenders in March.

Under this project, LESCO will replace old metres with the new SIM card metres. As many as 1.8 million advanced metres will be installed over a period of three years.
LESCO plans to install these devices in its central, northern and southern circles. The project, which is being partially financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), is expected to wrap up in 2022.

The project will be completed at a cost of approximately PKR 30 billion. To facilitate this end, ADB will provide funds worth PKR 24 billion. LESCO will release funds to cover the remaining amount – amounting to PKR 6 billion.
