Lahore: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) on Thursday continued its operation against power pilferers in Nankana, a news source reported. Nankana Circle SE Rana Ayub Khan led the proceedings on the directions of LESCO Chief Mujahid Pervez Chattha.

The said authorities conducted search operations in the city’s Baccheki City, Kor Nosher, Malak Mauj, Kot Namdar, and City Morr Khanda areas. They identified 39 electrical metres connected to unauthorized supply lines leading directly from the locations’ main transmission circuits. The team has disconnected these meters, along with charging over 53,000 units in detection bills. LESCO has also registered cases against the power pilferers at the areas’ designated police stations.

A LESCO spokesperson, while elaborating on the situation, said that the company had initiated an active drive against power pilferers in the city; revealing that it was currently focused on drawing detection bills from these individuals. He added that LESCO was fully committed to eliminating the issue of electricity theft in the city.
