Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has submitted the Leh Expressway feasibility report to the Punjab Public Private Project Authority (PPPPA) for approval, according to a news source published today (July 3). Even though the expressway project had been proposed 12 years ago, its feasibility report was prepared only a short time ago.

The Leh Expressway project has been delayed in the past due to one reason or another. Lately, the government has expressed a keen interest in developing the project — with the venture aimed at fixing the city’s flooding issue at Nullah Leh and to address the traffic congestion problems in the area.
In order to make the project development feasible, the authority concerned now plans to construct the Leh Expressway under the private-public partnership mode. This will also help reduce development costs. The PPPPA will be in charge of carefully scrutinizing the feasibility report to assess if the project is viable.

The findings based on this scrutiny will be shared with Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, who will take the final decision regarding the execution of the project.
