As per the details, a meeting was held at CDA headquarters to review the design of the proposed overhead bridge to link Leh Expressway with 10th Avenue. The meeting was attended by National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK), Zeeruk International (Pvt), CDA’s engineers, and consultants of RDA.
According to CDA officials, the proposed design was a joint effort of consultants of RDA and CDA. The design is being simplified to minimise the land acquisition requirement in the Rawalpindi area. A CDA engineer, while sharing details about the project, stated that in the initial plan Leh Expressway will be linked to 10th Avenue via simple at-grade slip lanes and an overhead bridge over I.J.P road.
As per the details shared, the RDA consultants were directed to verify the grades of linkages and identify the coordinates of the starting point of Leh Expressway and 10th Avenue. The RDA consultants were also asked to inform about the estimated cost of linking the expressway. Moreover, major decisions related to the cost of land to be paid to the CDA and the issue of toll sharing will be taken up in the Central Development Working party (CDWP) and Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC).
