According to reports, NESPAK will collaborate with two other companies in order to fulfil contractual obligations. The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) will monitor the project during the construction work – since the project is being developed on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis.
Following its completion, the 23-kilometre (km)-long Leh Expressway from Soan River Bridge to Kashmir Highway will help provide an alternative traffic route between Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Furthermore, it is expected to help curb pollution levels caused by open sewerages in Nullah Leh; as well as create economic activity in the area.
