Rawalpindi: Representatives of a Chinese company on Monday arrived in the city to conduct the feasibility study for laying down the Nullah Leh Circular Railway track, a news source reported. According to the details revealed, the federal and provincial governments, along with the China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC), have announced their decision to begin the feasibility study of the circular track – planned to run along the Nullah Leh Expressway project.

Sources stated that the company would conduct the study on the cost of the Nullah Leh Circular Railway track project. The Chinese experts would undertake the preliminary study on the project’s feasibility – including technical, legal, and financial assessments – along with its commercial viability.

An official of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) revealed that currently two proposals were under consideration for commencing with the Nullah Leh Expressway project development. One proposal featured land allocation for a sewage treatment plant in Adiala to a private land development company to earn money in return for investment in the project under private-public partnership, he said. He added that the second proposal pertained to covering Nullah Leh from New Kattarian to Soan River near the LHC Rawalpindi Bench for the commencement of commercial activities and letting a private investor earn money from these.
