Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has informed the federal government that legislative changes are required before Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) could regulate the three H-series sectors; H-13, H-14, and H-15, according to a post shared on Friday (March 25).

As per the details, the legislative changes are necessary because both agencies have an unresolved issue of overlapping boundaries. In a meeting held at the Cabinet Division last week, the officials of the CDA Law Wing notified that without these changes, RCB cannot operate in the CDA’s sectors. During the meeting, it was discussed that the three sectors will remain part of Islamabad and RCB will only have the authority to impose its regulations, tax collection, and provision of municipal services.

Reportedly, the issue of overlapping has been discussed several times in meetings. According to RCB survey sheets for 1964, 1977, & 1985, the RCB has claim over 2,509 acres of land in different sectors. In a meeting held last year, both agencies agreed in principle that RCB will back off from its claim on the land in the city, if the unacquired sectors of H-13, H-14, & H-15 were excluded from the city’s boundaries.
