Talking to the media while conducting the groundbreaking ceremony of various development projects in Islamabad, the premier said that the menace of the land grabbers is increasing and the existing legislation and punishment in this regard is not enough to deter the practice. The low-level penalties and gaps in the presentation of evidence result in the release of the criminals involved in the act.
Furthermore, the premier discussed increasing urbanisation and the resulting pollution in major cities. He stated that the Islamabad master plan would be revised shortly to suit the city’s fast-expanding population and to address the traffic-related concerns. On the occasion, he also lauded the Capital Development Authority (CDA) for generating surplus revenue of PKR 136 billion.
