Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed the officials concerned to launch crackdown against developers of housing schemes and buildings that fall within the road limits, according to news sources.

The CM issued these directives while presiding over the meeting of Communication & Works (C&W) Department held to review future road map and the department’s performance.
During the meeting, expanding the scope of the Lahore Ring Road Authority and renaming it as Punjab Ring Road Authority was also discussed. Moreover, the meeting decided to introduce a mechanism for road assessment management system in order to improve road monitoring efficiency and bring infrastructural developments.

CM Buzdar directed the meeting to adopt latest techniques for the construction of roads and buildings and instructed that fast-falling laser levers should be used for improving the quality of the roads. He also said that connectivity from farms to markets should be improved, while entry of heavy vehicles should be banned on small roads.CM Buzdar also discouraged unnecessary budget estimates for these infrastructural projects.
The Secretary of C&W Department informed the meeting that Punjab will see approximately 1,027 development projects soon.
