Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has explicitly stated that it has no designation for building inspectors, according to a news source. Through this notification, the authority has warned the public against paying penalty charges to fake building inspectors claiming to represent the LDA.
According to the information shared by the authority, the building inspector position was removed back in September 2009. According to the new rules, only officers ranked as assistant directors can inspect under-construction buildings, enforce building by-laws, and stop illegal construction activities, they are required to show their business cards while doing so.
In order to keep people from being tricked by fake building inspectors, the LDA recommends that citizens ask for business cards from anyone who asks to inspect their building. In the case of someone pretending to be a building inspector or making unreasonable demands, the issue should instantly be reported to the Lahore Development Authority Chief Town Planner at 042-9926-2321.
