Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) now has access to information procured by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) that will enable it to verify property buyers and sellers, according to news sources.
On Tuesday, the Director General LDA Muhammad Usman Muazzam and Acting Project Director NADRA Waryam Shafqat signed the agreement for online access to information of registered citizens on behalf of their respective departments.

This step is another attempt to make property transactions corruption-free. The authority will now have access to the family trees of citizens, which will allow it to confirm many things, including their marital status or the names of their legal heirs etc.
Aside from online access, the LDA will establish facilitation counters at NADRA offices in Sheikhupura, Nanka Sahib and Kasur to make it easier for citizens to submit their applications to the authority.

In an earlier development, NADRA partnered with Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) to establish a facilitation counter at LDA One Window Cell in Johar Town Office. It was meant to expedite the issuance of No-objection Certificates (NOC) to the landowners.
