Lahore: The Allama Iqbal International Airport management on Sunday issued a warning to the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), and other departments concerned regarding the construction of high rises, colonies and illegal developments near the airport landing area; seeing as the practice can lead to unfortunate collision incidents, according to news sources.

Airport Manager (Lahore) Akhtar Mirza issued this warning to the CAA, city commissioner and director general of LDA in separate letters. He urged the authorities to take action in this regard, as these buildings and structures built near the airport posed a hazard for incoming and outgoing flights.
The letter was sent in light of the recent tragedy involving the crash of a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA)’s plane in Karachi that resulted in the loss of precious lives, and property damage.
