According to the proposal, the 500-meter-long full height underpass would be built to relieve traffic congestion at Samanabad Mor on the way to Gulshan-e-Ravi. Following clearance from Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, the LDA will issue a tender for the project. In another development, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister (SACM) Hasaan Khawar stated that the PKR 1.75 billion Gulab Devi Underpass project will be completed two months ahead of schedule, saving PKR 12 million for the provincial government.

In an interview with the media, SAPM Khawar stated that the project is part of the CM’s ‘Lahore Package,’ which includes the construction of four flyovers and three underpasses. The construction of the Gulab Devi Underpass had started in July, and LDA announced in November that the underpass will be open for traffic by December 20.
