Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Ahmad Aziz Tarar has forwarded a summary of two road infrastructure development projects on Walton Road for the approval of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, news sources reported.

The PKR 2.8 billion project includes the construction of a dual-lane two-way underpass and one flyover on Khalid Butt Chowk and Ghora Chowk respectively.
As per the details, a dual road underpass will be built on Khalid Butt Chowk while a single two-lane flyover will be built from Ghora Chowk to Walton Road. The project will convert Walton Road into a signal-free corridor for smooth passage of traffic. The 5-kilometre-long signal-free corridor will start from Central Point Gulberg.

In addition to this, the Defence Mor will be remodelled and Walton road will be recarpeted and rehabilitated. The whole construction and infrastructure development project will be completed in 10 months. In this regard, LDA has requested the release of funds from the current fiscal year budget. LDA has scrapped the proposed project of protected U-turns on Khalid Majid Chowk Cavalry Ground and Defence Mor.
