Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority is looking to speed up the process of land acquisition for LDA City, a news source reported. The Supreme Court had directed the authority to allocate plots to all the 9,000 file holders of LDA City within eight months. LDA has also been instructed to submit monthly reports to the apex court each month.

LDA Director General Aamna Imran Khan stated the intent of the agency while speaking at a meeting to review the affairs of the said project. Senior LDA officials and project development partners, Pak Email, Maymar, Urban Developers, and Alpha Estate representatives also attended the meeting.
During the session, Khan gave instructions to set up an office and appoint the necessary staff officials for monitoring the land acquisition drive by development partners.
The meeting was also informed that 13,000 kanals of land on Ferozepur Road had been earmarked as development area for file holders’ plots. Of this figure, LDA already possesses 8,000 kanals. The remaining land will be acquired soon by the agency.
The DG also ordered for the necessary amendments in the project’s layout plan to be completed within two days’ time.
