Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has developed a plan to boost its revenue by revising land-use rules for its properties. As part of the strategy, the authority intends to convert residential plots into commercial ones and sell them, as well as establish parking areas on vacant plots.
The LDA has already identified several areas for these changes, aiming to increase the value of its land holdings. These areas include Gujjarpura, PIA Road, Johar Town, and Sabzazar.

Specifically, the land-use rules for 125 plots in Gujjarpura will be revised. The land reclaimed from encroachers in the area will be repurposed as parking spaces and commercial plots. Similarly, properties on PIA Road will be sold as commercial plots.
Additionally, 87 kanals of land recovered from encroachments in Sabzazar will be utilized to generate revenue for the LDA. Meanwhile, vacant commercial plots in Johar Town are set to be converted into parks.
