Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to make a signal-free corridor at Khayaban-e-Firdousi and Khayaban-e-Jinnah, according to a news report. In addition to this, the LDA has awarded a contract for the construction of a 600-metre long flyover at Shaukat Khanum Chowk, along with various u-turns to regulate the flow of traffic.
The corridor is expected to provide a signal-free route from Johar Town to adjoining areas of Raiwind Road. A senior representative has highlighted that out of a total 60 piles of alternate routes and diversions, 40 have been completed. Work on this project is underway at a fast pace, and is expected to be completed by 15th May 2018.
