Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to lift its commercialisation ban on seven major road avenues, according to a news source. In this regard, the LDA has also prepared a commercialisation draft for seven roads and a reclassification draft for four roads.

The purpose of lifting the commercialisation ban is to promote commercial activity in several areas of Lahore.
These roads include:
- Maulana Shaukat Ali Road to Raiwind Road (via Main Boulevard Khayaban-e-Firdousi and Khayaban-e-Jinnah)
- Wahdat Road (from Naqsha Stop to Multan Chowrangi)
- Nazaria Pakistan Avenue (Canal Road to College Road)
- Thokar Niaz Baig to Raiwind Road
- Akbar Chowk to Shabbir Ahmed Usmani Road
- Multan Road to Ferozepur Road
- Defence Road

In addition to the abovementioned roads, the LDA has also proposed to allow commercial activity on Hakeem Chowk to Madar-e-Millat Road on PIA Main Boulevard.
The LDA is also looking to introduce some changes in the existing status of major roads in Allama Iqbal Town, Faisal Town, Sabzazar and New Garden Town to determine their reclassification status.
