Under the new system, any firm looking to participate in the bidding process can simply apply through the newly developed application, instead of visiting offices of the engineering section (Urban Development Wing), as explained by Governing Body member, Amir Riaz Qureshi.
Mr Qureshi stated that a development committee headed by him was tasked with the duty to monitor processes relating to bidding closely, including publishing electronic tenders in print media and monitoring processes related to the prequalification of contractors ahead of initiating the tendering/bidding process.
Sadia Sohail Rana, also a member of the LDA governing body, stated that Chief Minister Usman Buzdar disapproved of LDA’s new deputation policy and constituted a committee in order to review the paper submitted by the administration of the authority.
