Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Tahir Farooq recently chaired a meeting to assess the performance of the Directorate of Katchi Abadis, as claimed by a news source on April 27.

Plans were discussed to initiate development projects in these settlements, as per national news. Additional DG Katchi Abadis Akbar Naqai, briefed attendees on community issues.
According to the details, Farooq emphasised the need to enhance amenities like street lights, road repairs, and parks in Katchi Abadis. He cited a directive from Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif to improve these settlements under the Sustainable Growth Model.

Farooq instructed the Additional DG to promptly submit a report on challenges faced by residents. Additionally, he pledged phased interventions based on the report’s findings to ensure gradual improvements.
