This development followed the recent promulgation of the ordinance for amending the Lahore Development Authority Act 1975 and limiting the authority’s jurisdiction to the metropolitan areas of the provincial capital alone.
As per an LDA official, the authority is currently gathering all the relate property records for handing it over to the respective field formations in the said districts.

Reportedly, the authority’s jurisdiction was expanded to other districts to regularise the mushrooming of illegal constructions. However, the issues couldn’t be fixed owing to the various technical, legal and administrative protocols.
