Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to formulate the ‘Lahore Master Plan 2050’ instead of the previously decided Master Plan 2040, a news source reported. Reportedly, the existing master plan is set to expire in 2021.

Reportedly, the LDA has already formed a committee to finalise the master plan in accordance with the population rise expected by 2050 – a 30-year-estimation.
Based on the findings, the committee will declare the domains of commercial and residential areas. Furthermore, planning for future mega projects will also be done keeping these factors in view.

The master plan will also finalise details on new roads, flyovers, underpasses and related infrastructural developments required by 2050.
