Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) is all set to commence with the construction work of the provincial capital’s main entrance gate near Thokar Niaz Baig – a news source reported. As per officials, labour and machinery was recently deployed at the project site; with the work scheduled for completion within a time frame of two months.

The project was originally designed by the Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab (IDAP) and is being executed by the LDA. It is expected to feature state-of-the-art architectural designs.
The project was initially estimated to cost PKR 29.029 million. But, during their meeting with the contractors, the officials concerned managed to bargain the amount down to PKR 22.230 million.

The width and height of the gate would be 130 and 60 feet respectively. It will be constructed at a distance of about 100 meters from the police post (towards Thokar and Chung on Multan Road).
