Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority and the Town Municipal Administrations (TMAs) will have to transfer building control affairs to a new divisional Building Control Authority (BCA) after the approval of the bill on the BCA by the provincial assembly and Punjab Cabinet.
According to a news source, the LDA’s Town Planning Wing currently deals with the approval of building maps, implementation of building by-laws, demolition of illegal structures, collection of commercialisation charges, inspection of sites, and various other matters.
As soon as the bill is approved, the LDA and TMAs will be required to hand over these matters to BCA.
