Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has directed its engineering wing to complete the development work currently underway at the LDA City, the Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT), Shakam Chowk, and other project sites, according to news sources.

The civic agency is currently working on multiple development projects, including various at-grade civil works of the Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT). It is tasked with the construction work of the OLMT, amounting to PKR 3 billion, which includes the development of service roads, lane markings, footpaths, drains, traffic signs installation, parking areas and painting curve stones.
An LDA official revealed that the authority is expected to make some changes in the engineering wing to expedite the development pace.

The Punjab government has already released PKR 1.5 billion for OLMT and PKR 1.5 billion for the development of sports complexes in various National Assembly (NA) constituencies. The estimated cost of this project is PKR 8 billion.
Further, the provincial executive has provided its approval to the issuance of PKR 700 million for the resolution of traffic woes at the Ek Moria Pul (junction). Other under-construction projects include the PKR 100 million Thokar Niaz Baig beautification project, the PKR 1 billion 60 roads project, PKR 3.5 billion LDA City housing project and the PKR 3.5 billion Shahkam Chowk flyover.
