Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) reported record-breaking revenue collection in 2024, with PKR 2.47 billion collected in its December auction alone, according to a news article on January 1.

Pursuant to the details, the authority attributed this success to its focus on IT-driven reforms and robust revenue initiatives. Key achievements include the digital issuance of 1,110 residential building plans and the approval of 8,610 plans overall. The LDA also conducted digital mapping of over 7,500 commercial properties used unlawfully, issuing 9,570 notices, sealing 5,057 properties, and demolishing 708 unauthorised structures.
First, computerised balloting for residential plots was successfully introduced. Development in LDA City saw significant progress, including work on Chenab Road, underground electrification, and plot possession transfers in the Jinnah Sector.
Other notable initiatives in 2024 include:
- Inauguration of Central Park and a Citizen Facilitation Centre in LDA Avenue One.
- Development projects in Jubilee Town, such as constructing the entry gate.
- Commercialisation of eight major roads.
- Digitalisation of 65,246 property files, making records accessible online.
