Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has shared the details of the measures introduced by itself and the provincial and federal governments to facilitate local private developers and housing schemes as part of an effort to boost the workings of the construction sector, ease-of-doing-business, and, by extension, the country’s economy – according to a news report published on Thursday (September 3).

The authority has also published some pointers for private developers and housing schemes for hassle-free projects’ approval . These include the following:
- Investors and buyers have been advised to be mindful of the master plan. The LDA will only approve housing schemes in residential areas – which should be verified before buying land by the authority.
- A checklist of ‘documents required’ for obtaining approvals for housing schemes can be accessed on the authority’s website.
- Housing schemes whose approvals are in process, under the old approval mechanism, can now also apply under the new mechanism to have their housing schemes approved within 60 days after completing the ‘documents required’ checklist. These housing schemes be processed under the current rules and bylaws. They are also required to submit these documents within 30 days after the LDA’s advertisement appears in the newspaper (September 3).
- The forms for each department will be submitted at the one-window cell in different files along with the requisite documents.
- After the resolution of public objections against the notice published in the newspapers about the housing scheme, LDA will begin further processing the documents.
- Preliminary Planning Permission has been done away with, so the housing schemes that have the permission, but have not yet submitted further documentations, have been asked to do so now – along with the layout of the project.
