Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LGA) recently constituted a directorate to expedite the construction of 4,000 residential units under the LDA City Naya Pakistan Apartments project, a news source reported on February 23.

LDA Director General (DG) Ahmed Aziz Tarar provided his approval to the establishment of the Directorate of Housing XII. Additional Director General (Urban Planning) has been tasked with managing the said directorate.
According to the details revealed, the core function of the directorate is to see to the sales, marketing and estate management of the apartments. Its top management consists of a grade-19 officer as director, a grade-18 officer as deputy director, and two grade-17 officers as assistant directors.

Meanwhile, the civic agency organised a public hearing on the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report for the LDA City Naya Pakistan Apartments project at the Sports Complex in Johar Town. Environmentalist and Water Affairs Specialist Muhammad Riaz briefed the attendees regarding the initiative.
Addressing the participants, Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) spokesman SM Imran stated that several international firms had expressed their interest in the River Ravi Urban Development Project (RRUDP). He further said that the China Road and Bridge Corporation had submitted a request for developing the Sapphire bay, Zone-3, on 2,300 acres of land.
