Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) recently sought exemption from the Punjab Infection Diseases Ordinance 2020 to resume public dealing on its offices, a news source reported.

As per the publication, it was informed that the ordinance disallowed any kind of public gathering with the exception of utility services, such as Sui gas, municipal corporations, Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA). It was also informed that LDA could not conduct services at its offices due to the ordinance. However, as per Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s directive to open up the construction industry, LDA Director-General (DG) requested the provincial secretary to permit public visiting hours at LDA offices.

It was also informed that LDA had resumed its development projects in the capital city and was observing all the necessary precautionary measures to check the spread of coronavirus. Additionally, the civic body has also begun advertising for new uplift projects to enable timely response from the interested bidders. LDA sources confirmed that once the government approves their request, public dealings would be resumed with all necessary health protocols.
