Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to update the draft of the Private Housing Schemes Rules 2014, a news source reported. As per officials, the civic agency aims to strengthen the said regulatory framework in order to ensure the provision of better living conditions for the general public.

On Tuesday, LDA’s governing body held its 11th session. During this session, the body reviewed the proposals pertaining to the amendments/additions in the Private Housing Schemes Rules 2014.
Earlier in September, the development authority had also approved the Building & Zoning Regulations 2019 in its bid to introduce LDA bylaws to facilitate the construction of additional high-rises in the city.
Recently, the LDA generated an income worth PKR 10.29 million through the auction of parking plazas and commercial buildings in the city.

An LDA official revealed that the authority auctioned the tenant rights for two parking plazas in addition to auctioning two commercial plots. The commercial plots auctioned were located in Mustafa Town. The parking plazas for which LDA auctioned tenant rights were Liberty Park & Ride Plaza in Gulberg and Park & Shop Plaza in Moon Market, Allama Iqbal Town.
