The EPD official (whose name was not disclosed) mentioned this at the public hearing organised by EPD at LDA Johar Town Sports Complex on the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) of the Rehabilitation of Bund Road. The Rehabilitation of Bund Road, from Babu Sabu Interchange to Ring Road & Gulshan-e-Ravi T-Junction Underpass, is a mega project to be launched by the authority.
Moreover, the official stated that the authority should have brought the people living in the areas of Shera Kot, Talat Park, Babu Sabu, Shaheenabad, and outer parts of Gulshan-e-Ravi to the public hearing. He went on to say if they couldn’t do that, at least, the authority must have arranged a venue for the public hearing near the surrounding areas where the project was being launched.
