Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Saturday razed the infrastructure of nine illegal housing schemes – a news source reported.
LDA’s Metropolitan Planning Wing and Directorate of Estate Management conducted an operation. The schemes were situated along GT Road and Canal Road.

The authorities concerned razed the boundary walls, green belts, roads, and other infrastructure. The schemes included Ghaus Garden, Ashraf Garden, Subhan Garden, Al-Hadi Garden, Nigh-e-Baan Homes, Gold Land Garden, Shalimar Industrial Housing Scheme, and Metro City.

The civic agency previously issued notices to the housing societies in question. LDA said it had asked the owners to acquire the necessary documentation for approval. It decided to launch the operation only after the owners failed to comply.
