Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Wednesday razed several infrastructural facilities in seven illegal housing schemes in the city, a news source reported. The private housing schemes squad of the LDA Estate Management Directorate carried out the operation.

The LDA officials demolished a number of constructions within the seven private residential projects. The infrastructure included walls, green best, offices, under-construction roads, and sewerage system.
Previously, the civic agency had announced its decision to amend the Private Housing Schemes Rules. With the introduction of revisions in the rules, it aims to encourage the construction of high-rises in Lahore.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar has stated that LDA’s operational scope would once again be limited to Lahore City only. In the past, LDA’s jurisdiction was extended to other districts of the Lahore Division.

Taking notice of the cleanliness in Lahore, the CM expressed his concerns over insufficient arrangements. He directed the authorities concerned to take emergency steps in this regard. He also ordered to solve the problems of the citizens on a priority basis.
