According to the notification, each society under LDA’s jurisdiction has been assigned a unique QR code connected to information regarding the society’s number of plots, mortgaged plots, and development status. The QR codes are also available on the LDA’s official website; www.lda.gop.pk. The administration has recommended for the public to scan QR codes before investing in or acquiring land in societies. According to the authority, the decision was made to prevent unlawful housing schemes from scamming unaware investors and property buyers.
The notification also cautioned investors and purchasers to request QR codes from property developers and societies and not to engage in any endeavour that does not include a QR code facility. It further said that LDA shall not be held liable for any material losses caused due to failure to adhere to the precautions.
