Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) is probing illegal constructions and commercial activity in Johar Town — with the initiative aimed at surveying 25,000 plots in the area to identify illegal constructions and violations of approved building plans, a news source reported.

The land-use of all the plots in Johar Town will be identified, and action will be taken against people violating the authority’s rules. The LDA has already launched a grand operation for this purpose, under the directions of the LDA Director General.
A team of LDA officials and staff has also been formed for to conduct the aforementioned survey. The team will be headed by Deputy Director Hafiz Asadullah and other members of the team will include officers from the recovery department, estate management, and town planning.

The teams will visit 23,000 homes in 44 blocks, where they will survey the structures and will also identify residential plots where commercial activities are being illegally conducted.
