LDA officials revealed that the body is planning to phase out the current annual commercialisation scheme by 2024. In addition, it will reduce the commercialisation fee of residential property from 20% to 15%. Moreover, one of the major changes proposed was the introduction of a new semi-commercial category, which will encourage mega projects that are sized between 24 kanals and 200 kanals.
These measures are all part of a grand plan to promote development in the provincial capital, and make its land rules more accommodating for mega-commercial projects.
