Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) have signed an MoU to introduce an Electronic (E)-Permit System for carrying out online map approvals, reported a news source. PITB Chairman Azfar Manzoor and LDA Director General Amna Imran Khan signed the agreement at the Arfa Karim Technology Park yesterday.

According to the MoU, PITB will design the E-Permit System for the LDA. The system will allow people to submit applications for map approvals for commercial & residential structures through the internet, and at the PITB’s especially formed E-Khidmat Markaz. This provisions come in addition to the LDA’s standard map approval applications submissions conducted at its One-Window Centre.

The MoU will become functional once the LDA Governing Body sanctions its approval. Its signing comes as part of the business reforms agenda introduce by the provincial government to facilitate ease of doing business in Punjab. The reforms were introduced on the orders issued by the Punjab chief secretary.

Speaking at the occasion, the LDA DG said that the E-Permit System would help make the map-approval process easy for the people.
