Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority has ordered developers of private housing schemes to plant trees on the seven-percent space of their societies’ total area, according to a new report. This tree-plantation drive, organized under the Urban Forest Movement, comes as part of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s Clean and Green Initiative.

To ensure that private developers follow these orders, the LDA has prepared a mobile application. This app will help the LDA monitor the tree plantation status of individual private housing schemes.
Furthermore, the development authority has also tasked developers with providing nourishment for the saplings, so as to serve the true purpose of this initiative (promoting green spaces).
