Rawalpindi: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority (NAPHDA) on Tuesday have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at Prime Minister’s house in Islamabad, according to news sources.

The agreement is related to the construction of LDA City Naya Pakistan Apartments – Phase I. It was signed by LDA Additional Director General (Urban Planning) Rana Tikka Khan and NAPHDA Executive Director Brig (retired) Amanat Ali Khan. The ceremony was attended by Punjab Housing Minister Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, NAPHDA Chairman General (retired) Anwar Ali Haider, LDA Vice Chairman S M Imran and other prominent officials from both departments.

The accord is aimed at providing a general framework and formulation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the development of 4,000 low-cost housing units that will be spanning over 650 sq ft each.
