Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to address the infrastructure-related issues of Mohlanwal Housing Scheme, news sources reported on September 20.

At a meeting of the LDA governing body to address LDA-related matters and regulations, it was decided that the government would grant funding for repair and development after a 31-year delay. In this regard, a tender will be issued soon to procure the services of the engineering firms. According to Chief Engineer I Israr Saeed, funding would be granted for the building of roads, sewage systems, boundary walls, community park improvements, gas and electricity installations, and other infrastructure. Furthermore, the entire process will be completed in 18 months.

It is worth noting that the LDA launched the Mohlanwal Scheme in 1990, which covers an area of 967 kanals. The project also houses 1,424 families. LDA has begun to resurrect initiatives that have been on the back burner for a long time. This includes the development of new apartment complexes in Johar Town as well as the ‘Walk n Shop’ arena.
