Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has released the first draft of the Lahore Master Plan 2050, a post on the authority’s official social media account reported on February 23. The authority has invited the general public and citizens for suggestions and objections on the draft.

According to reports, the LDA has requested individuals to submit their ideas and complaints about the master plan to LDA Chief Metropolitan Office, located at LDA Complex in Johar Town Lahore. Citizens may also examine the draft policy on the LDA’s official website, https://www.lda.gop.pk. Following a lengthy debate with civil society and the community to solve the city’s infrastructure problems, the LDA has produced the first draft of the master plan. According to the LDA, the master plan addressed public transportation, education, the environment, housing plans, cultural persistence, and industrialization in the provincial capital. Furthermore, the Master Plan 2050 tackles sustainable growth and transportation, including a bike and pedestrian lane.

Furthermore, it was claimed that the master plan will cover other cities in the Lahore Division, including Kasur, Sheikhupura, Nankana, and others. The report also disclosed that the master plan was created with a 2.4 % growth rate and urban migration in mind. It is important to note that the LDA will amend the LDA ACT-1975 and LDA master plan rule 2014 to prepare and implement Master Plan 2050.
