Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has finalized its list of illegal private housing projects in Lahore Division – where the count of such schemes has reached to 576, according to a news source.

As per the list, the number of illegal housing societies in Lahore alone is 1196. While the LDA granted approval to over 48 housing projects during the last year. According to the shared information, Lahore is currently home to 292 approved housing schemes. Reportedly, legal investigation is underway against the unapproved projects.

Reports reveal that the total number of illegal housing schemes in Sheikhupura stands at 117, while District Kasur and District Nankana has 142 and 29 such projects respectively.

LDA Chief Metropolitan Officer Nadeem Akhtar, while addressing the media, said that an operation against illegal housing developments is underway and more inquires will be launched in future.
