For the sake of keeping the public better informed, the list will be updated on the LDA’s official website and Facebook page. Speaking to the media, LDA Director General (DG) Aamir Ahmed Khan stated that the action was taken in response to the Lahore High Court (LHC)-issued directives and will be put in place to protect people from real estate-related frauds. He stated that, in accordance with the LHC guidelines, LDA has allocated unique QR codes with numbers to each registered society in order to trace their transactions and protect the safety of the investors’ hard-earned money. DG Khan also stated that the authority is enforcing regulations and has written to the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) to prohibit the advertising of unlawful housing developments in the city.

It is worth noting that the LHC has ordered that the LDA and other housing regulatory bodies take specific efforts to prevent illicit housing schemes from defrauding citizens. In this respect, the LDA has allocated a specific QR code to each housing scheme, which when scanned will reveal the scheme’s status in terms of total area, sold and mortgaged plots, and commercial and residential plot numbers.
