After a demonstration of dozens of property dealers on Monday 25th June, the LDA official have decided to set a one-window cell in Johar Town to attend to their complaints. The property dealers have shown reservations against the unnecessary objections raised by LDA officials about approval of exemption cases. They accused LDA of using delaying tactics for issuing consent for the plots that were acquired by the officials during the development of certain housing schemes.
According to these estate agents who protested outside the LDA office in Johar Town, the real estate business in that locality is facing severe hurdles because of the uncooperative attitude of the LDA officials. The demonstration was called off as soon as LDA’s Additional Director General for Housing assured the protestors of solving their issues.
While talking to media, Muhammad Imran Abbasi, the LDA Director Land Development said that the genuine demands of the protestors have been accepted and the officials have planned a meeting with the property dealers of Johar Town on Tuesday 26th June to negotiate with them.
The major concern of the Johar Town’s estate agents is the supposed ban imposed by the LDA on transfer of all exemption cases, including the routine, urgent, and constructed property. LDA officials have assured the protestors that no such ban is planned. Ahad Cheema, the Director General LDA, has ordered the concerned officials to scrutinize the exempted cases.
