Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) is set to launch the ‘Plant for Pakistan’ initiative on World Forest Day, as reported in a news article on March 20.

According to the details, LDA Director General (DG) Tahir Farooq announced this during a meeting attended by various officials including Additional DGs, Chief Engineer, Chief Metropolitan Planning, and Chief Town Planners.
The campaign aims to plant over 100,000 saplings across different locations in Lahore, including LDA Avenue One, Jubilee Town, FTC, and Emporium Mall. Free saplings will be distributed to citizens, and LDA housing directors will also participate by planting saplings in their respective schemes.

Collaborating with the private sector, the LDA plans to plant 60,000 saplings. Free saplings will be available at LDA’s One Window Cell in Johar Town and Avenue One, as well as at various points in the city. Additionally, children from LDA schools will take part in the initiative to contribute to making Lahore greener and cleaner.
