Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has approved the revised layout plan of its LDA Avenue-1 Housing Scheme, news source reported on December 9.

The authority has invited citizens to submit their reservations over the approval of the revised plan within 15 days of its publication. The LDA governing body had previously approved the revised layout plan in a meeting held on November 11, 2022.
The new plan includes the addition of several accessories and features, such as roads, commercial areas, parks, and other amenities. The housing scheme will span over an area of 15795.83 kanal in Mouza Bhopatian, Jaliana, Chung Panjrai and Musala Raiwind Road Lahore.

The LDA governing body has approved the following accessories and additional features to be included in the new layout plan:
- There will be dedicated land for the graveyard, public buildings, parks/open spaces, roads, residential and commercial plots that will be kept within the original conformity of the scheme
- New plots have been created as a result of negotiations with litigants to address the grievances of the affectees.
- Civic Center of LDA Avenue-1 has been redesigned as per the needs of the market trends to capitalise on the full potential of the designated area
- New petrol pump sites have been identified in the scheme on main roads
- Commercial plots have been included in the scheme in the extra land
- The area of the existing LDA office building at the proposed civic centre is extended with parking space
- Extra areas and landmarks have been surveyed using the latest technology and drones

This is not the first time the LDA has revised the layout plan for the LDA Avenue-1 Housing Scheme. The initial plan was approved in 2009, but was later revised in 2016 and 2017 to address the concerns of residents and incorporate their suggestions.
