Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Ahmad Aziz Tarar on Monday said that laws have been formulated and implemented to protect agricultural land from being converted into illegal housing societies, news sources reported. He said that regulations have also been passed to encourage the construction sector’s development in the city.

LDA DG made these remarks while meeting with the delegation of private housing headed by Sh Amjad Manzoor. The delegation apprised DG Tarar about the challenges that private housing societies were experiencing. Moreover, the members shared their reservations and thoughts on the city’s new master plan.

In response, DG LDA Tarar informed the delegation that their concerns and difficulties would be addressed on a priority basis and that their recommendations would be incorporated into the master plan to make it more feasible for citizens. He also stated that a dedicated one-window cell will be formed in LDA to address the difficulties and concerns of housing societies. He stated that a list of unlawful housing projects is posted on the LDA website for better guidance and to protect residents from unscrupulous private housing schemes.
