Lahore: The State Management Directorate of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) recently demolished the infrastructures of five illegal housing societies in the city, a news source reported. Previously, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Muhammad Usman Muazzam had issued orders to this effect.
According to officials, these illegally-constructed housing schemes are located in the Raiwind Tehsil.
During this massive operation, the department staff demolished roads, site offices, sewerage systems, containers, greenbelts and other infrastructure in these schemes.

Previously, Minister for Housing & Urban Development Mian Mahmood-ur-Rashid had announced that amendments would be introduced to the bylaws of the LDA in a bid to address the concerns of the builders and developers.

To facilitate this measure, the DG LDA recently issued a WhatsApp number to allow citizens to lodge their complaints and offer the suggestions that will help improve the operation of the authority.
