The prime land situated adjacent to the Arfa Karim Tower has been allocated to the health department free of cost. As per the sources, the land was originally allocated to the health department against the sum of PKR 2.033 billion with the amount subject to be submitted before Feb 1, 2022. However, the department failed to deposit the amount and the land allocation was cancelled.
Later, the said land was reallocated to the department free of cost and the decision was approved in a provincial cabinet meeting headed by Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Pervaiz Elahi. The CM asked the LDA to rationalise the land requirement for the hospital through vertical construction in consultation with the health department.
